Ajila and Vishal's South Asian Fusion Wedding
Hello Everyone! Welcome back to my wedding photography blog! Last year I was introduced to Vishal and Ajila when I photographed their engagement session. We immediately hit it off as friends and had a great photo session. I knew back then that their wedding day would be as equally fun and a great photographic opportunity. So as with most Hindu weddings, the celebration took place over the course of a couple days.
The beautiful wedding, Mehndi Henna that was placed on Ajila's hands symbolized joy, beauty, spiritual awakening and offering. As an artist, I always admired these unique designs. The Quora part of the ceremony "Rice" is considered a symbol of wealth and prosperity. The rice was showered on Vishal and Ajila to bless them a future full of wealth and well being. After this ceremony, I was able to capture great family photo's from both sides of the family. I must say that everyone greeted me with a lot of hospitality and made me feel very welcome. On another note, the food was very delicious! :)
On day two, I met Vishal early in the morning for his groom preparation photo's in Woodbridge, NJ. We took great photo's of him putting on his accessories as well as more family photographs. After that session, I drove to Ajila's location for her preparation photo's. It's important to note that the Bride and Groom had multiple outfit changes throughout the day. I thought this was a very cool idea. More looks gives more variety. Vishal's first look was a slick, Tuxedo. For his second look he wore, a tan Sherwani with red Sirwal pants. Ajila's first wedding look was a beautiful ball gown.
The wedding reception was an absolute blast! It was full of high energy to say the least. After the Bhangra dance, we had cake cutting and alot more fun dancing. I want to personally say thank you to Vishal and Ajila for allowing me to be a part of their wedding day. I couldn't have asked for a better couple. Also thanks again to both families involved. You made me feel very, very welcome for this event. One of my goals for 2018 is to become a major player in the South Asian Wedding community. This is definitely a step in the right direction.
